Obituary of Lois Elaine Jensen Calegory

Lois Elaine Jensen Calegory “Grandma Lolo” Born October 25, 1926 in Salt Lake City to Erma and Albert Jensen. Graduated from West High in 1943 and married Micky S Calegory the same year. They were together 65 years until his passing in 2008. She died on December 15, 2020 at the home of her daughter. She is survived by daughter Sue (John) Risto, brother Albert Jensen of Sacramento, granddaughters Tracy Hanks, Lisa (Mike) Peck, Meredith (Stuart) John and Tammie DeSimon and many great grandchildren whom she loved dearly. Preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters, 1 half-brother, daughter Karen Hanks, sons Michael and Steven Calegory and grandson Ian Calegory. She worked many years in retail sales, beginning with Sears in the 1950’s, where she made many lifelong friends. After leaving Sears, she worked in different shops in the former Cottonwood Mall in Holladay. After retiring, she volunteered at the Immunization Clinic for the Health Department and the WIC program. Lois loved having all the family gather together in her home on Delia Drive, where she lived for 40 years. Her outgoing personality and generous nature made her a beloved fixture in her neighborhood. She was an outstanding baker, nothing made her happier than cooking for her family. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy in life, and she will be greatly missed by all. No services are planned at this time. The family wants to thank the hospice program for allowing Lois to spend her final two months at the home of her daughter, where she could have visits from her family.
