Vaunda Lee Weber Valdez Posoni 83, of Salt Lake City, UT was called to rejoin our Heavenly father on October 3rd, 2024. She was born May 21st, 1941 in Billings, Montana to Leopold William Weber Sr and Elvina Marie Bradley Weber and was one of 6 children 2 brothers and 3 sisters Juliana Griffin (Jim), Stanley Weber, Leopold William Weber Jr, Melody Grammer (Bob), and Cindy Cook.
Vaunda Joins her loving husband Latu Posoni who passed away September 3rd, 2015. In life they were married on December 15th 1984 and enjoyed 30 years of marriage together. Together they had 9 children. Richard Valdez Jr (Robin), Michael Valdez (Tammy), Sarita Valdez Whitlatch (Paul), Alana Valdez, Idona Valdez, Dennis Valdez Sr (Rachel). Ikamanu Palei, Finau Posoni, Manu Posoni; Vaunda had 20 Grandchildren and 27 Great Grandchildren.
In 1943 Father Leopold Weber Jr secured a job as an Iron Worker and the whole family moved to Pleasant Grove, Utah. She grew up there and graduated in 1959 From Pleasant Grove High School. Right after Graduating High School, she married Richard Valdez Sr where they had 6 children before parting their separate ways. A chance encounter at a dance and a phone number exchange would eventually lead to Vaunda dating, falling in love, and being married to Latu Posoni.
Vaunda fell in love with crocheting Afghan blankets. She had shared many handmade blankets and other crafts for people throughout her life. She was an avid reader carrying books with her wherever she went. She had for a time bowled in a bowling league and also liked to play pool and do jigsaw puzzles. She was an animal lover and had pets ranging from birds, fish, rabbits, and even a potbelly pig. Elephants were Vaunda’s favorite animal and she received elephants of all sorts and varieties as gifts on occasions.
