I was Bob's Golf Professional at Nibley Park, and he was a fervent and frequent muse for me in all things of this world.
As a young, naive, beginning entrepreneur, he took me under his wing and into his confidence in all things of this secular and chaotic world while he taught me about business, social interactions, and life.
Wise beyond his formal education, Bob understood the vagarities of living outside the bubble of my having been born into a white, Christian, middle-class, and privileged upbringing.
He taught me how to hold my head, retain my dignity, and be humble while I walked amongst kings, wannabes, bigshots, and everyday folks alike, never losing his own downhome upbringing, humor, and purpose.
A debt I will forever cherish and remember.
Rest in peace, Blue, you were a good friend.
