A passionate husband, devoted father, doting grandpa, and beloved friend, Byron's life was a symphony of joy, connection, and living in the moment. Byron and Joanie were inseparable since 2007, and they solidified their bond in marriage on February 17th, 2012. Their motto, "Together forever and always, no matter what," encapsulated the depth of their love and commitment. Joanie cared for Byron with unwavering love and compassion until the very end, standing by his side through thick and thin. Byron had a deep love for his animals, Andy, Cheb, and Chief, who were more than just pets to him--they were cherished companions who shared in his journey of life. Their presence brought immeasurable joy and comfort to Byron, and he reciprocated their love with tender care and devotion. Music flowed through Byron's veins, and his love for it was evident in every aspect of his life. Live music was his church, and its melodies fed his soul. Known as "The Leader of the Concert Posse," Byron had an uncanny ability to secure concert tickets, which he enjoyed with Joanie and their friends. Whether attending Old Man Rock and Roll Trivia on Thursday nights, hosted by his best friend Dave since 1976, or joining in the euphoria of a live performance, Byron's spirit soared in the presence of the music he adored. Byron was the heart and soul of the "magic house," ensuring that it ran smoothly with his loving touch. As his fragility increased, his friends and family rallied around him, offering unwavering support every step of the way. From driving him and Joanie to concerts to lending a helping hand with household tasks like cleaning rain gutters, changing smoke detectors, installing grab bars in the shower, and providing food. They embraced the opportunity to reciprocate the love and care he had bestowed upon them throughout his life. Lights held a special place in Byron's heart, and he saw no reason why they couldn't illuminate his life year-round. Their warm glow brought a sense of joy and whimsy to his surroundings, reflecting his vibrant spirit and love for creating an enchanting atmosphere. Byron is survived by his loving wife Joanie and children, Amber (daughter), Justin (son), and step-son Zack. Their presence in his life brought him immeasurable joy and pride. Amber, his eldest daughter, shared a special bond with Byron, journeying through life's milestones together and forging an unbreakable connection. Justin, his son, looked up to his father as a role model, learning invaluable lessons about kindness, integrity, and the importance of living in the moment. Zack, his step-son, was a cherished member of the family, contributing to the depth of love and shared experiences. Byron's family circle extended to include his son-in-law Brett and daughter-in-law Kara. Their love and support enriched Byron's life, forging strong bonds of family and furthering the sense of unity that was at the core of his being. Their presence brought joy and warmth to his heart, and their connection was a testament to the love that Byron nurtured within his family. As a grandpa, Byron's heart overflowed with love and pride. His grandchildren, Brynlee, Harlee, McKade, and Trevin, held a special place in his heart. Byron is also survived by his six siblings: Tye (Arnold), Ted (Connie), Jim (Gail), Jon (Tamra), Jani (Ben), and Jerry (Trish). Their shared memories, laughter, and unbreakable sibling bond were a source of strength and love throughout their lives. Together, they formed a tight-knit family that provided support and comfort during both joyous and challenging times. Byron was preceded in death by his father, Byron George, and his mother, Joyce Draper. Their love and guidance shaped the person he became, instilling in him the values of compassion, kindness, and the importance of family. Throughout his life, Byron's love for his family extended beyond blood ties. His friends were an integral part of his chosen family, and their unwavering support and friendship added immeasurable value to his life. Together, they shared laughter, adventures, and countless memories, forming a bond that will endure in their hearts forever. Baking his special Snickerdoodles was a beloved tradition for Byron. His unique touch to this family recipe was enjoyed by both friends and extended family, and had become a highly requested holiday indulgence. A memorial service celebrating Byron's extraordinary life will be held on July 31st at 11:00am at Taylorsville City Cemetery located at 4567 S Redwood Rd. In honor of his love for music and his desire to spread joy, the family kindly requests attendees to wear their most vibrant, groovy attire. Your presence, support, and prayers during this difficult time are deeply appreciated by the family.
