Obituary of Steve Christian Meyer

Steve Christian Meyer 3/31/1973 ~ 6/24/2023 It is not possible to sum up everything wonderful that he is, and everything amazing that he accomplished in just a page of words. Steve Christian Meyer always said that there was no such thing as perfect, but he was perfect. He was a perfect husband to his wife Stephanie, and a perfect dad to his kids Tayah, Justine, Joseph, Jennifer, Janelle, and Jessica. What made him perfect was the love he gave to all of us. Steve put his entire heart into his family and did anything within his power no matter the sacrifice to show us that love. His problem-solving skills and ability to fix anything was beyond compare. Steve never thought he was better than anyone and was always a friend to the underdog. Steve put his heart and soul into everything he did. Whether it was building corn hole boards and beautiful wooden tables, fishing, hunting, or any of his other many talented hobbies. Steve took pride in preparing things for his loved ones and friends. He would show up to the camping spot at least a day ahead of our friends so that he could prepare the sight, building better fire pits, leveling the ground for other campers, clearing the rocks, and doing what he could to make it an enjoyable experience for all that were coming. Everyone always loved to come for dinner. Steve cooked better than any 5-star restaurant, blending his own spices and making his own marinade. He cooked with passion, and used the food to express his love for those he was cooking for. Steve paid attention to the things that mattered most, and he wanted the world for his 6 kids. I feel any of us that knew him were blessed to have him in our lives. Steve helped take his Kearns High School football team to state and win, while also competing and winning with the school dive team and gymnastics. He enjoyed his time as a Federal Officer. Steve had the opportunity to go help with Hurricane Katrina saving many children and assisting many others. He made many friends who became family while working with Metro, as director of security, and as club security. Steve’s work ethic was beyond compare. He never missed a day, even while fighting through pneumonia or food poisoning. His skills while driving the large haul trucks at Kennecott quickly promoted him, and he was able to take those skills to drive strong arm and make friends along the way. Steve was always trying to make everyone happy. He could be found dancing at the truck yard early in the morning, making funny faces at the kids, dancing in the garage with his wife all night into the early hours of the morning. He was a respectful, faithful, gentleman who was always trying to show his love. Many of his friends would call him their protector and say he was just like a brother. Even the animals seemed to notice his gentle and caring heart. Steve is preceded in death by his mother Lucy Hansen. Steve leaves behind his wife Stephanie, his children Tayah, Justine, Joseph, Jennifer, Janelle, Jessica, his father Ronald Hansen Sr, his sister Shellie, his brother Ronald Jr. and his best friend Kodi. The entire newspaper wouldn’t have enough room to write everything that made Steve so special to this world, and the man I love. Until the day I can hug you again, I love you babe. I love you infinity. A celebration of life in Steve’s honor will be held at our home 5737 Coral Pine Ct in West Valley City on Sat July 22 at 1 pm where we will be getting together and celebrating all the joy and love that Steve brought into our lives. Goodbyes are not forever. Goodbyes are not the end. They simply mean I’ll miss you until we meet again.
