Obituary of John Tracy Curtis

Please share a memory of John to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
John was born in Salt Lake City, UT on March 5, 1962 to Spencer H. and Geraldine S. Curtis. He grew up in Salt Lake City and Sandy, UT with a large family of 17 children. He attended and played football at Hillcrest and Jordan High Schools. Tracy was always an adventurous dare devil and really loved to go downhill fast. Tracy met his beloved wife, Judy Lucero, in 1978. They were married May 23, 1981 and spent 42 years together, loving each other. Some of their favorite activities were sneaking off together and going to the beach, taking long rides together on Tracy’s motorcycle, and cuddling up to watch TV. They had 3 children: Jeffrey, Johnathan, and Whitney Curtis. Over the years their family grew to include 5 grandchildren: Gage, Gunner, and Gatlin Curtis, Tevan Bisby, and Roxy Ruiz. Tracy loved his family and received lots of enjoyment from watching his boys play football and then his grandsons too. He was their biggest fan. Tracy was an expert shoemaker and worked many years repairing shoes. He spent some time at Alders installing doors. He later went on to work at Romaine Electric. He enjoyed the years he spent in each of his professions and appreciated all of the caring people he worked with and friendships along the way. Tracy was a chef in his own right. He enjoyed cooking and smoking yummy food, which usually came with a nice kick. He was an avid Judas Priest fan, attending many concerts over the years. He was a dedicated Green Bay Packers fan (GO CHEESEHEADS!!!). He was an undeniable party animal and liked to joke around. In the evenings he loved to watch old western movies. If he could, Tracy would ride his motorcycle every day. He had fond memories of Sturgis and was a “Ride or Die” biker for sure. Tracy cherished his lifelong friendships and good times with Sam and Gary, as well as the close connections he had in the family. He was a big guy with a very soft spot for his fur babies. He enjoyed taking the dogs for rides and spoiled them with treats. Bosco liked putting on his goggles and riding on the motorcycle with his dad. Tracy was preceded in death by his loving parents, Spencer H. and Geraldine S. Curtis; sisters, Kathleen Crawford and Jennifer Rogers; brothers, Jim Curtis, Michael Crawford, and Bruce Curtis.
