Obituary of Matthew P. McEwan

Matthew Perry McEwan was born on January 16, 1981, in Salt Lake City, Utah and passed away at home, April 23, 2023. Matthew is survived by his daughter, Hannah, his girlfriend, Heidi Parker, Mother Cynthia Florez Ivie, Stepfather Mark Ivie, siblings Lacy (Christopher) Bowcutt, Katie (Daniel) Knight, Tyrel (Darcie) Ivie, Nephew Owen, grandparents Viola Ivie and Luis Macias. Matthew also leaves behind countless aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who loved him dearly. Matthew was preceded in death by his wife, Brittanie, Father Perry Grant McEwan, Grandmothers Nina Gregg and Patricia Macias, Grandfathers Vicente Florez, Grant McEwan, Theron Gregg and Derrald Ivie.
Matthew worked construction, mostly operating big machinery but had no problem getting in the trenches. He enjoyed playing football and had a passion for basketball, music, dancing, camping, hiking and just being silly. Matthew had a kind heart and was a Good Samaritan helping many people, even saving lives. He will be remembered for his love of Hannah, Heidi, his Momma and life as well as his giant smile and infectious sense of humor.
Funeral services for Matthew will be held Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Creekside Church, 1400 Bitner Road, Park City, Utah. A private viewing for close friends and family members will start at 11 am, followed by the services at 11:30. A graveside service will be held at Heber Cemetery at around 1:30 pm.
