Obituary of Minnie Pearl Dalton Yardley
Please share a memory of Minnie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
2/11/56-1/31/23
Minnie moved on to be with her heavenly family on January 31st. She spent her final few days surrounded by those who loved her. Minnie was born in Salt Lake City, to Reilly Orval Dalton and Joyce Grant. She was the second of six children, three boys and three girls. She would recount the difficult times that her family had when she was young, but she learned to appreciate her siblings and how to make due with what they had.
Minnie married her first husband Paul Allen straight out of high school and had two children, Nathon Ray and Tamara Joy. The marriage was short lived, but they remained in contact throughout the years. In 1978 she married James Yardley and had one son with him, Brian Neil. In 1993 she married her third husband, Samuel Yardley, and she had five step-children whom she appreciated and cared about.
In 1988 she converted to Catholicism and started attending at the nearby Cathedral of Madeline where she made several friends that she remained close with throughout the years. In 2001 she was in a car accident that started many health problems including seizures, spinal degeneration and a slow loss of feeling and control in her extremities. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and when she was able to, watching their various extracurricular activities. As she aged and her children started to spread out, she would fill her time with the many friends that she made in the neighborhood.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother John, sister Marlene, her daughter Tamara and all three ex-husbands. She is survived by her sons, Nathon and Brian (Corinne), five grandchildren and two great grandchildren (with two more on the way), her sister Mary and her brothers Joseph and James. We would also like to offer our sincere thanks to her neighbor Cindy Chadwick, for all the help and support that she has provided to Minnie when her family was unavailable, it meant the world to us.
