Please share a memory of Jon to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
1/16/1973 ~ 8/4/2022
Jon Maurise "Jason" Petersen, 49, passed away on August 4, 2022 in Salt Lake City. Jason attended East High School in Salt Lake City, Utah and graduated in 1991.
Jason was an excellent student and won many academic awards throughout his education. He was very popular in school and had a lot of friends.
Unfortunately, Jason was considered disabled shortly after graduating high school due to a traumatic event and never had the opportunity to pursue his career goal of becoming an accountant, mathematician, or cosmetologist.
Jason was a man of great integrity and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ and Latter Day Saints. Jason always helped people in need if they were to approach him. We will miss him terribly but find peace knowing he was received into the loving arms of his savior, Jesus Christ.
Unfortunately, Jason was plagued with an unhealthy body and spent the last 25 years disabled living in Murray, Utah.
Jason always looked forward to his monthly shopping list at the Harmons Grocery in Taylorsville. He loved the crab salad from the deli. Special thanks to the front end staff, for their amazing kindness towards Jason.
Jason is survived by his sister Fawn Heiner, brother Chuck Covassi, nephew Joshua Heiner, niece Jessica Heiner, and brother-in-law David Heiner.
He is preceded in death by his father, mother, and grandparents.
Graveside burial will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at the West Jordan Cemetery on 7925 S 1300 W, West Jordan, Utah 84088.
God saw you getting tired
And a cure was not to be
So he put his arms around you
And whispered, "Come to Me."
With Tearful eyes we watched you suffer
And saw you fade away
Although we loved you dearly
We could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating
Hard working hands to rest
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.
