May 17, 1946 - December 04, 2021
Joban was born on May 17, 1946 in Guatemala, but later immigrated to the United States to be closer to her family. She is preceded in death by her parents Selso and Maria Alegria. She enjoyed cooking , traveling, and spending time with her family. She has a total five brothers; Augusto, Tomas, Lolo, Silvestre, and Ventura, and 3 sisters; Milita, Trina, and Rodriga. She has several nieces and nephews; Erick, Marmel, Mary, Walfer, Oralia, Sergio, Edwin, Carlos, Chochi, and others. Through out the last years of her life, she lived with her son Marco and enjoyed preparing meals for him, his family, her son Sergio and other family members. Even when she was in pain or feeling ill, she was dedicated to making Marco's lunch for work almost everyday. He loved that she always gave him enough food for three people. It made him smile each day and think of her while eating his lunch. Her son Sergio is a truck driver and she longed for the returns of each of his trips. When she knew he was coming to see her, she would wait at the window watching for him to arrive. She would then of course feed him, and then they would spend time visiting and catching up. She cooked so many delicious meals we will miss and never forget; seafood, chicken and beef soups, , tamales, picado de carne molina, carne asada, and many other dishes. Marcos family's favorite were her delicious empanadas. She was so thoughtful and caring and loved her family. She is survived by three children; Sergio Ponciano, Marco (Stephanie) Ponciano, and Eva Jobana (Brian) Gertz. Also by eight grandchildren; Marco, Haley, Erick, Brittney, Angelina, Christian, Danielle, and Jacob. Her love and presence will be missed.

Mathew 11:28-29
Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
