Obituary of Ronald Jay Hancock
Please share a memory of Ronald to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Ronald Jay Hancock, age 65, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday February 24, 2021.
After a long and difficult battle with heart and lung problems. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to Alma Jay Hancock and Ruth Ann Robinson Hancock.
Ron grew up in Salt Lake and attended South High School.
Ron was married to Denise Ribe Hancock in May of 1986 and had 2 children, Jay Michael, and Nichole Elizabeth. After they went their own ways, they continued to be friends.
Ron was previously married to Linda Mae Hancock and adopted her 4 children, the twins, Malinda and Michelle, Tiffany, and Erik.
Ron loved life. He was a joker and loved to make people laugh. He lived with his son Jay and was able to spend special quality time with his 3 youngest grandchildren (Tiarra, Nevaeh and Sylas). They would always fight over who would be able to bring him snacks and drinks when he needed something. Ron would always sneak a piece of candy or some treat to the grandkids.
No matter what, Ron was always there when anyone was in need. There were many occasions when family or friends would need him and he would be there in a heartbeat, even if it were in the middle of the night. Just like the song “You find out who your friends are” That was Ron. He was a friend that you knew you could always depend on.
Ron was preceded in death by his father and mother, Sidnie, and his fur babies (Mario, Angel). Ron is survived by his 2 children, Jay (Chrissy) Hancock, and Nicole Hancock, his siblings, Terrie Lee, Larry Alma, Joseph William, and Robert Paul, his grandchildren, nieces, nephews, fur babies (Mario & Norman) and many amazing friends. He loved his children, grandchildren, and Norman very much. He and his nephew Charlie had an incredibly special relationship.
You will be missed and deeply loved by many. You are at peace now.
Ron’s ashes will be buried with Sidnie Jessop in Smithfield, Utah.
