Please share a memory of Rosealie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Rosalie Paulmyre McKendrick Nordlund returned to her Heavenly Father on August 6th, 2020. She was 79 years of age. Rosalie was born on September 2nd, 1941 to parents Robert and Maybele McKendrick. She grew up and graduated from High School in the city of Helper, Utah. She then made a home for herself in various places throughout Salt Lake Valley. Her best friend throughout her life was her sister Zoe. They spent countless hours together going places and doing many things. She greatly missed her sister after she passed away two years ago.
In 1968, she worked as an X-Ray technician. She then worked for Auerbach’s Department Store in the downtown area for a few years, until it closed in 1979. She also spent several years of her early life working for the Mormon Church offices in Salt Lake City. Her last job was working as a parking attendant at the Gateway Mall. She loved this job, but was forced to quit for health reasons.
She was a devoted collector of anything that depicted Betty Boop. This hobby kept her busy and brought her much joy. She was a happy and loving person. She was a friend and defender to all who knew her, especially to her own 4 children, and all of their friends. She dearly loved her 10 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. Rosalie devoted endless hours toward helping to raise two of her grandchildren, Annika and Ashton. You could always count on her to make life fun, and keep things interesting. She loved humor, and always found a way to enjoy a good laugh. She will be dearly missed and never forgotten by all who were fortunate to know her.
Survivors include her sons, Layne J. Dyett, Curtis Dyett, Dale Whipple, and daughter Stacey McKindrick.
Memorial services will be on Sunday, August 16th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at 4192 W. Benview Dr. in West Valley City. The family will have a private gathering following the services.
