Obituary of Christine Merry Johnson

Christine Merry Johnson passed away peacefully on December 6, 2019. She was born March 13, 1953 to Eddis Allen and D. Ferne Talbot in Salt Lake City, Utah, the youngest of their two children. She graduated from Highland High School, engaged in courses at the University of Utah, and later returned to school to receive her CNA and LPN.

Christine was a caretaker and entertainer at heart. She had a strong love for all animals and adopted many to provide sanctuary. From an early age her passion in life was ballet. She trained in classical ballet and danced with Ballet West; the highlight of her career in dance was traveling with the company for performances in New York. She also enjoyed teaching through Ballet West in her adolescence and young adult life. After starting her family, Christine held multiple jobs and when her mother became seriously ill, she devoted years of loving care for her in their home.

Christine is survived by her three children Brian Johnson, Tiffany Newlon (Geoffrey), David Fulton (Elizabeth), her brother Courtney Talbot (Judith), and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Christine was preceded in death by her loving parents.

Our family is forever grateful for the staff and caregivers at Holladay Healthcare Center where Christine resided for the past two and a half years. Because of all the years Christine spent providing care to others, we understand and appreciate the comforting relationship that caregivers provide to those near the end of their lives.
