Obituary of Eilleen & Terry Lyon

Please share a memory of Eilleen & Terry to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Eilleen & Terry Lyon were tragically taken from us by a shocking murder-suicide. We were all in disbelief because they had such a very loving & close relationship. We really don’t know why this happened and probably never will. We just hope they are at peace now. Eilleen was born July 3rd, 1960, to her very special and loved mother, MaryJane (Edwards) Morgan & Father Gary Royce. MaryJane & Gary were divorced around the time Eilleen was 8 years old, then her step-father, Ray Morgan came into her life. Ray and Eilleen adored each other and had a great relationship, the last thing he did for her was trim & cut down the tree in her front yard right before he passed. She had a fun childhood growing up in White City with her sister and two brothers. Eilleen was very loved by all her friends and family. She was the type of person that everyone just adored for her sweet, caring, generous, loving personality. She always made you feel special and genuinely loved and cared about. She was very silly and funny and also very innocent… she never did quite grasp the concept of teasing & joking with people, which is one of the things we teased her about. Eilleen cared about everyone deeply and would do anything to help others. She loved her crazy sister Cindy and baby brother Roger so much and they just loved her too. Her older brother Scott was a fun & funny guy too, all the siblings just loved each other and had so much fun together. Eilleen worked at various jobs when she was younger. She was a beloved bank teller at Zion’s Bank after high school, people would wait in her line just to be able to chat with her while they did their banking. She worked at BD/Ballard Medical with her best childhood friend, Laurie Tripp where they made many more girlfriends to go have fun and giggle with. Her and Laurie had so much crazy fun together over their lives, Laurie would say Eilleen was her soul sister, her whole family thought Eilleen was the most selfless, caring & loving woman they have ever known and were blessed to have her in their lives. Laurie’s kids Crystal, Alesha & Mikey were also spoiled by Eilleen & Terry’s love, they were just like family to her. Eilleen enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, she developed loving relationships with her weekly family party friends Heather & Mark, Jackie & George, and Billie & Don. Weekly visits and walks with her close friend Robyn were also very special to her. Eilleen always looked beautiful, had her hair & makeup done and loved wearing her pretty nightgowns, flashy sparkly jewelry, pink lipstick & nice blouses. She loved listening to Journey and drinking a nice cold beer. We will all miss her lipstick kisses on our cheeks and in our birthday cards. She also loved all her kitties, especially Peaches & Pretty Girl, Pretty Girl was adopted by a family friend after Eilleen’s passing. Eilleen met Terry after high school, they fell in love and were married in April of 1981. They had a very loving relationship and were inseparable. They had many fond memories of traveling, family holidays and backyard barbecues. Eilleen & Terry were very generous and loved to cook, they would make delicious meals for everyone every Saturday, and Terry would always make sure to bring a plate to his long-time next-door neighbor & friend MaryEllen. Terry was born June 2nd, 1962, and raised in Sandy, UT by his parents Judy (Evans) Flores & Theron Wayne Lyon. Soon after marrying Eilleen, he joined the Air Force, and they moved to Wyoming to start his basic training and serve his country. When his time with the military was finished, they moved back home to Midvale, UT where Terry started his life-long career with Layton Construction. He was a great employee, boss and well-liked by his coworkers. Layton provided vacations for their employees every five years, which Terry & Eilleen loved going on. Terry was such a fun-loving generous guy, he was a big teddy bear and gave the best hugs. He was “the host with the most” where he always made sure everyone had their favorite full drink, food in their bellies and a good time. He enjoyed waking up early to tend to his vegetable garden, cook food for our family parties, and go on fun weekend trips to Wendover where he loved playing Blackjack. They both will be missed dearly. Eilleen is preceded in death by her parents, brother Scott (Kim) Royce, and her nephew S. Cole Griffiths. She is survived by her sister Cindy Royce Griffiths (Steve), niece Danielle Griffiths, brother Roger (Alice) Royce, & nephew Stockton Royce. Terry is preceded in death by his parents & Uncle Ronny (Janis) Lyon. Survived by his brother Dennis Lyon, and sister Staci (Erik) Horton.
