Rex and I worked together at Hartvigsen School. I have such good memories of him. In fact, they are all good memories. I always looked forward to seeing him in the halls, or riding on the same bus when we went on field trips. No matter what we were doing, Rex would lighten the mood and have us all laughing!
I had an advantage from the first time we met because I had a close friendship with his sister Sher. We usually worked in the same classroom, so we were able to see Rex a lot.
I'm so grateful to have worked with him, and to have been his friend. Hearing about his passing was extremely hard. This is the only time I remember thinking about Rex and being sad at the same time.
I've loved seeing pictures of him that have been posted by his family, and those images have brought back my happy memories of him. He made a very positive impact on my life and I was blessed to know him.
With Love,
Kathy Swensen

Rex will be truly missed! I have been working in the HVAC industry for many years. It was nice to see him daily. He was honest and open, which made it easy to enjoy talking with him. He had a way of helping me get through hard days. I loved his personality! I will catch up with my friend someday. Love ya, man.

I grew up next door to Rex for my whole childhood, are families spent a good amount of time harassing each other. It was all in great fun, the Griffiths boys brought home a mag pie and taught the bird to mimic Marylou (sounded like her cussing) and the bird would come over and steal my dad's tools and take them to another neighbor's rain gutters. Oh, I get overwhelmed with childhood memories when I think of Rex, he was a jokester but a very kind soul.

I first met Rex at Hartvigsen school where he worked along side my wife in caring for those special souls. He was so genuine and fun to be around that one could not instantly like him. When I found out he wanted to make a change in employment, I had the privilege of hiring Rex into the HVAC industry to work in the parts and warehouse departments at Carrier Intermountain. He was an instant hit with our customers and a natural at giving them his best advice and help. There were many customers who would say, "I'll just wait until Rex can help me." He was one of the best customer service examples that I had ever encountered. As he moved to other positions and companies, many followed him, myself included, because of his unique ability to be their friend.
I will always cherish and remember his great sense of humor. If I asked him some silly question, that he found the answer to be quite obvious, he would give me that "Rex Look" that told me to just think about it and try again.
I look forward to meeting my friend and associate in the future where we can recall and laugh about the good times we had.
Your forever friend, Rulon Swensen
